Wednesday, February 20, 2013
Marshall University is continuing to invest in interdisciplinary engineering education with the construction of the Arthur Weisberg Family Applied Engineering Complex. Named for the late Arthur Weisberg, philanthropist, businessman and long-time benefactor of Marshall University, the new science facility will consolidate multiple academic and research programs. Disciplines will include Information Technology, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Math and Computational Science, and Computer Modeling & Digital Imaging.
The new applied engineering complex will further Marshall’s commitment to being a leader in collegiate STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). State-of-the-art labs will accommodate undergraduate, graduate and corporate researchers, with companies including the Transportation Research Corporation and the Marshall University Research Corporation.
Designed by the team of Hastings+Chivetta and Bastian & Harris, construction on the 145,000 sf facility is currently underway, led by BBL Carlton.
