St. Louis County Police Unveil New Crime Lab
Wednesday, November 13, 2013
Representatives from Hastings+Chivetta Architects were on hand as St. Louis County Police unveiled their new, H+C-designed Crime Lab on Friday, November 8.
The new 31,000 square foot Crime Lab triples the space for St. Louis County Police Department employees and equipment. The space includes labs for biology/DNA; chemistry; trace evidence; fingerprint analysis, firearm/toolmarks, and photo/video. A Vehicle Processing Bay sized for three vehicles is also included, supported by a processing laboratory and office space.
The new SLCCL is organized to minimize disruption from the new firearm testing range, as well as to provide staff office areas that are separate from laboratory environments. Public access is limited so that in-process and stored evidence have the highest level of protection.
You can read more about the Crime Lab in the St. Louis Post Dispatch, and at Fox 2 News.
