UNC-Wilmington Welcomes Students to New Rec Center

The new Student Recreation Center held its grand opening on the campus of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington last week.  The well-attended ribbon-cutting ceremony included students, UNCW Student Government Association leadership, the UNCW Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, as well as representatives from Hastings+Chivetta.

Amenities in the renovated and expanded Recreation Center include multi-activity courts, extensive cardio space, racquetball courts, multipurpose rooms and a 28-foot climbing wall.  The Discovery Outdoors Center has new storage space for all of their gear, as well as new reception area and meeting rooms.

Hastings+Chivetta worked in association with Bowman Murray Hemingway Architects, and the contractor was J.M. Thompson Company.
